In telling stories we define ourselves and challenge ourselves. We have the opportunity to examine our interaction with life and ideally to become the heroine (or hero) of our own story. In addition we may eventually recognize others as the heroines (or heroes) of their own stories. In writing poetry and song there is the opportunity to express emotions that go beyond words or sense, to play with words for the simple sake of sounds.
